Pick a Card, Any Card!

Have you ever noticed that if you give someone a deck of cards and ask them to do a card trick, the first thing they will do is spread out the cards and say Pick a card, any card.? Why is that? Is this the only magic that can be done with a pack of cards? Think about it. Think about all the card tricks you know and what is involved in those tricks. One thing that is common is that you always have someone pick a card, any card. This truly is the basis of all card tricks.
Now, dont me wrong, there are other card tricks that do not involve having someone pick a card. For example, you have the famous 2 Card Monty, or any card trick that involves producing aces in some magical way. But when you get right down to doing card tricks, you can pretty much count on asking someone to pick a card.
It is what is done with that selected card is what makes the card trick unique from other pick a card tricks. There are so many ways to reveal the chosen card, some very simple, some so out of this world, it leaves the spectator talking about it for days. This is where you can make it or break it. If you are doing a card trick and have the spectator select a card, you better be prepared to reveal their selection in the most amazing way you can think of as people now a days are so adapted to this trick that they will some how think you marked the card as you pull it from the deck and think big deal. You need to step it up a notch, something that is totally not expected.
Some of the most common ways are to produce the card from a sealed envelope, or have the card magically appear on your arm by rubbing ashes on it. These are all great effect and leave the spectator a little baffled. This is what you want. Other ways to reveal the selected card is to have is placed somewhere on or in the spectators belongings, even way more powerful.
So the next time you are handed a deck of cards and asked to do a card trick, be prepared to step up and ask them to pick a card, any card, and reveal that card in a way that will blow peoples minds away!

online card games

I can not understand this obsession that my sister has with online card games. It seems that playing card games online, much of the thrill of the normal game would disappear, but she seems to like nothing better. It started as a casual hobby, but has quickly become a life destroying, time sucking obsession, from which there is no escape at all. Every morning, she plays online card games. Every evening she plays more online card games. At first is was just a simple game of hearts now again, but now it encompasses everything from bridge to go fish, to some of these new fangled trading card games like Magic the Gathering. I swear, she even has online card game message groups which she subscribes to to get the latest online card game news. How could online card games even have news – I mean, what new could happen. Did someone discover a magical fourteenth card in the suit?

Me, personally, I can not stand the online card games which seem to bring my dear sister such pleasure in her life. I can not even see the point of these online card games. I mean for me, playing card has always been about the social aspect of the thing. You get together with friends, have a few drinks, deal a few hands, and maybe place down some small wagers. It does not cost more than a night out with the buddies, and usually it costs less, and it is just a great way to hang out with the friends and catch up on what is new in each others lives. But with these online card games – I don't know. It just seems so distant, and you are playing with strangers. And “LOL” is just no substitute for the real sound of your friends laughter as the hand is finished and another one is dealt.

I think that the internet has many good things about it, but I think that in some ways it has also robbed us of some of our meaningful social connections. I mean, people play card games online, football games online – they even practice dating online. It is great to be able to exchange information at about the speed of light, but life is not just about exchanging information. It is about connecting with people, having time to talk and play and laugh. And you simply can not do that online.
The Best Credit Card Reward: For Those Who Had Been Naughty And Nice

Think about it. If people would normally pay all their credit card balances in time, then what is the purpose of interest rates?
None.
And how will people get the benefits that their credit card company claims? It is through the credit card rewards.
These are freebies or prizes designed to make the big boys and girls happy because they had been naughty and yet nice enough to pay their dues.
Credit card rewards are also one way of enticing people to sign up to them. It tells them about countless benefits they could get just for signing up and getting a credit card.
There are actually a variety of credit card rewards available today. Most of them are being offered by credit card companies all the same. But what the people mostly wanted is the cold cash.
According to some reports, most people, who are entitled for some credit card rewards, would rather have cash for reward than with any other freebies available. They claim that they just want to be feasible. Hence, cash backs were deemed as the best credit card reward
In reality, financial experts claim that the arrangements of cash-back programs are actually the most straightforward credit card rewards than the other types. Plus, consumers can even track it, get hold of it, and see if it really is true.
Moreover, cash-back programs have a wide variety of classifications. It all depends on the type of credit card consumers have. For example, there are credit card rewards intended for college students such as college savings. For retirees, they also have retirement investing rewards.
But for those who do not want cash backs, there are still other credit card rewards that work best for the consumers. There are those rewards about frequent flyer plans and freebie-giveaways.
Indeed, credit card rewards keep on flowing. The reason behind that is to entice people not to delay their payment so as to avoid adding to the pile of credit card debts and numerous bankruptcy cases.
There are still many credit card rewards that would be initiated upon the people especially for those who spend a lot. In fact, some reports say that there is a credit card reward these days that entails the consumer to not pay the annual fee for as long as they get to pay the balance on time. That would be a heaping $3,000 off in the event that the consumers standing balance is $30, 000.
That, indeed, is a lot of money.

A Problem Called 'Credit Card Debt'

Credit cards are no more a luxury, they are almost a necessity. So, you would imagine a lot of people going for credit cards. In fact, a lot of people posses more than one credit cards. So, the credit card industry is growing by leaps and bounds. However, the credit card industry and credit card holders are posed with a big problem called Credit Card Debt. In order to understand what credit card debt actually means, we need to understand the workflow associated with the use of credit cards as such.
Credit cards, as the name suggests, are cards on which you can get credit i.e. make borrowings (your credit card debt). Your credit card is a representative of the credit account that you hold with the credit card supplier. Whatever payments you make using your credit card are actually your borrowings that contribute towards your credit card debt. Your total credit card debt is the total amount you owe credit card supplier. You must settle your credit card debt on a monthly basis. So, you receive a monthly statement or your credit card bill which shows your total credit card debt. You must pay off your credit card debt by the payment due date failing which you will incur late fee and interest charges. However, you have the option of making a partial (minimum) payment too, in which case you dont incur late fee but just the interest charges on your credit card debt. If you dont pay off your credit card debt in full, the interest charges too get added to it. So your credit card debt keeps on increasing, more so because the interest rates on credit card debt are generally higher than the interest rates on other kind of loans/borrowings.
Further, the interest charges add on to your credit card debt each month to form the new balance or the new credit card debt amount. If you continue making partial payments (or no payments) the interest charges are calculated afresh on the new credit card debt. So you end up paying interest on the last months interest too. Thus your credit card debt accumulates rapidly and soon you find that what was once a relatively small credit card debt has ballooned into a big amount which you find almost impossible to pay. Moreover, if you dont still control your spending habits, your credit card debt rises even faster. This is how the vicious circle of credit card debt works.

Credit Cards and APRs

You probably see a lot of credit card offers on a daily basis whether it's on television, the internet, a magazine or in the mail. In the advertisement, you probably see or hear APR mentioned several times in the form of Introductory APR, Standard APR, Cash Advance APR, Balance Transfer APR and Default APR. The difference between these APRs might be confusing at first but they are pretty simple to understand.
Introductory APR refers to the initial interest rate you receive for purchases on the credit card when you first get it. This Introductory APR is usually really low (around 0%) and lasts between 6 and 12 months.
Standard APR is the interest rate the credit card goes up to after the Introductory APR period is over.
Cash Advance APR is the interest rate you receive for cash advances.
Balance Transfer APR is the interest rate you receive for any credit card balances you transfer over to your new credit card. As a side note, if you have a high interest rate credit card and the new credit card company offers the Introductory APR for balance transfers, transfer your balance to the new credit card if you can pay the balance off within the Introductory APR period.
Default APR is the interest rate your card goes up to if you are late on payments or go over your credit limit.
Excessive Credit Card Debt

Most people advocate the case of credit cards, quoting the benefits and convenience that arises from them. However, there is another group/line-of-thought that strongly opposes credit cards. The reason being Excessive Credit Card Debt, which is one of the most serious problems faced by the credit card holders and credit card industry. However, you cant pull the shutters on the credit card industry just because of a few irresponsible people (or even if its more than few). That is not a solution for beating excessive credit card debt. Moreover, you cant overlook the benefits associated with the credit cards.
The issue of excessive credit card debt can be looked at from 2 angles. First is addressing of the excessive credit card debt problem at the industry level and second is the addressing of the excessive credit card debt problem at the individuals level i.e. at the credit card holder level. The first method involves increasing awareness of the excessive credit card debt problem to the masses. This is more or less being done currently too. However, there should also be an effort to tackle this problem of excessive credit card debt at an even deeper level. This means trying to devise a mechanism to nip the problem (of excessive credit card debt) in the bud. This mechanism should actually be a part of the overall system. A lot of thought needs to go into devising such a mechanism. Case studies should be taken up, statistics gathered and a proper forum formed (with representatives from the credit card holders and from the credit card suppliers). As of now, the credit card suppliers just seem to be engaged in coming out with new products and getting customers enrolled to those products. There is little attention paid towards addressing the problem of excessive credit card debt in the real sense. Something like attending mandatory seminars on the root causes of excessive credit card debt could be made part of the credit card application process.
Another way of dealing with the problem of excessive credit card debt could be: developing a system for calculation of applicable credit card limit at the individual level i.e. no standard/product-based credit limits. Then there could be mechanisms for proactively warning the users about excessive credit card debt (based on their credit card usage) or even imposition of early restrictions on noticing the first signs that lead to excessive credit card debt.
At the individuals level, the treatment of the problem of excessive credit card debt would include following of best practices (on credit card usage and avoidance of excessive credit card debt) by the individuals themselves. A checklist or a set of questions could be provided to individuals for recognising the first signs of excessive credit card debt.
So, the problem of excessive credit card debt can surely be dealt with by putting together some serious thinking at a broader level together with discipline at the individuals level.

Fast Cash Payday Loans

If you need cash now there are several options available to you. The first is your debit card, assuming you are in good standing at your bank. Just head to the ATM and faster than you can say "I need cash now", you'll be good to go.
Another way to get dollars in hand if you need cash now is by deliberately overpaying for gas or groceries and telling the clerk you need cash now. They will give you the balance. A third way to get money if you need cash now is through your credit card company or checkbook.
Some credit card companies lure you to their brand, knowing you need cash now, by offering cash advances. When you need cash now, you simply use the credit card as a debit card. You'll be given a pin number (password) upon sign up. Then when you need cash now you'll be able to borrow against your credit card. Other tricks credit card companies utilize in order to keep your business are checks in the mail that you can cash when you need cash now. Since everybody seems to need cash now, they know if they send you a check you'll likely cash it without thinking about paying it off with interest later.
The next time you need cash now, think twice before using one of the above mentioned methods until you recognize exactly what it is you'll have to pay later. Sometimes when you need cash now you're unlikely to picture the consequences all the way through. All you know is you need cash now, not later. If you or a loved one need cash now, pool your resources and go to the bank rather than relying on an unknown third party. When you need cash now it's hard to do business with a level head, and lending companies know this.

Choose A Better Balance Transfer Card

If you are currently experiencing problems making repayment of your credit card debt, then the time has come to consider switching your credit card account to a 0% account.
However, if you make the wrong choice, you could end up in the situation where you actually pay more to the credit card company than would otherwise have been the case if you had stayed put!
So, to choose a better balance transfer card is to make a wise choice; and to help you here are some of the things you should be on the loom out for:
What you want
You want the balance transfer card to offer you 0% interest for the longest possible period
You want the card to have no joining, fixed or associated fees that may act as an alternative to interest
You want the 0% interest to apply to the entire balance you transfer to the new card provider
You want to be able to spend on the card if you need to and for the new spending to also be subject to 0% interest for the offer period
You want the APR after the initial offer period to be low
You want to be able to transfer the balance of your credit card account to a better balance transfer card at the end of the promotion period without incurring any fees for doing this
You want to know if the 0% interest rate also applies to any cash withdrawals
You do want a good rewards program
What you dont want
You dont want fees and charges of any kind
You dont want the 0% interest to only apply to new debt incurred on purchase made on the new card itself
You dont want to forfeit the 0% interest in the event that you fail to make a payment or if you make a late payment
You dont want to be creating new debt on the account if you can avoid it
If you choose a better balance transfer card wisely, you should be on the road to recovering your financial health and stability. Always keep in mind though that you are transferring your money to a better interest rate balance card for a reason, so do not rush out and spend all the money you are saving in interest payments, use that to help reduce your principal outstanding debt!
How to Budget Your Credit Card Spending

Although acquiring a credit card is much easier than adhering to a budget, planning your credit card expenses is esential to help prevent dire consequences from credit card utilization. This may stem from the fact that a credit card is by no means a mobile automated teller machine. It is however a means to get you out of an emergency situation such as a car breakdown, or for travel convenience. The following budgeting tips will provide you with great insights on wise credit card usage.
Spend within your capability
With or without a credit card, one should always spend only what they can afford. In fact, you should spend like you dont have a credit card because at the end of the day, you will have to pay back what you charged. It is true that you should never use your credit card to settle your grocery bills or to quelch your shopping needs. With all the discounts and bargains clamoring for your attention, it can be annoying to know that you will be paying more for it because of credit card interest rates.
Have a good concept of the Credit Limit
Rather than viewing the credit limit as the amount of money you can use every month, think of it as a loan that you must repay within 30 days. Then, tabulate the amount of interest that you have to pay if you decide to settle your repayment over a period of six months. This way, the $7500 will look less tempting and when calls with offers of higher credit limit plans come in, you will have the good sense to put the phone down.
Do not let your credit accumulate
You need to be responsible to own a credit card but as luck would have it, there are emergencies that are unavoidable. In this case, you should settle your credit card bills as soon as possible. You have to be self-disciplined on this because credit accumulates and credit cards work on compound interests. The longer you delay your repayment, the more you have to pay.

Cash Back Credit Card Tips

Wouldnt it be great if you could get an extra cash rebate on every purchase you made? Well, that is completely possible with cash back credit cards. This type of credit card gives you a certain percentage back on many of your purchases. You can receive the money from your credit card either monthly or yearly according to the credit card company.
You may be wondering what type of items count for your cash back credit card rebates. Most of the time such things like balance transfers and cash advances do not count and you will not receive any type of credit card rebates. You will have to check with each credit card company to learn which cash back credit card applies to purchases that you normally buy.
How much can you get from a cash back credit card is another issue. You can search and determine which ones yield the best percentage, however, make sure they are stores that you personally shop at or are items that you normally purchase.
You may even enjoy more cash back with different cash back credit card policies if you shop at certain stores such as Wal-Mart or Sears. This can give you more money in the way of cash back.
Redeeming points from your cash back credit card is easy. Normally, you do not have to do anything. It is according to how often the credit card disburses the cash back. Some credit card companies are now offering the cardholder to redeem points on their cash back credit card rewards to be applied to their balance. You can even use your cash back for charitable contributions.
There are fees with any credit card receiving cash back is just a reward so to speak. A cash back credit card can have other fees such as balance transfer fees, annual fees, high interest, high APR, or other charges that may make the cash back credit card less desirable.
Be sure to read the terms and conditions when applying for a cash back credit card. Be sure to find out if you can shop at your favorite stores with the card. Also, find out all you can regarding the applicable fees for the card for cash advances, balance transfers etc., as these extra charges may make this card an expensive proposition. However, if you do choose a cash back credit card, it can be incredibly useful if you shop at those stores and receive money for purchases you normally buy all the time. Just an added bonus for using products you love while shopping at your favorite stores.

Why a Free Prepaid Card May Be Right for You

There are many reasons why a free prepaid credit card may be the card for you. Perhaps you would like to teach your college kid good fiscal responsibility. Maybe you are having trouble obtaining a normal credit card due to poor credit score and would like to work on improving it.
A prepaid credit card has its fair share of advantages and disadvantages. In fact, they function more like debit cards, except there is no savings or checking account tied to the card. With a prepaid credit card, your credit limit is determined by the amount you pre-pay to the credit card company. Once the balance has been depleted, you will then be required to purchase more credit in order to continue using the card.
One of the greatest advantages of prepaid cards is the low application requirement, where a good credit score is unnecessary. In fact, you dont even need to have a credit score, or even have an income to qualify. You just need to be at least 18 years of age.
Also, most prepaid credit cards do not impose APRs on the amount you have deposited with the credit card company. This makes sense, since youre not actually obtaining credit from them. Another feature of prepaid credit cards is their ability to let you deposit your check directly onto the card balance. Not only will this save you trips to the bank, its also a great convenience if youre the type who charges everything to the credit card.
While prepaid credit cards are generally a good bet, they are not without their downsides. Like regular credit cards, they may have fees attached to them such as a monthly maintenance fees, transaction fees and ATM fees. These are costs of using your prepaid credit card, and can be significant if you dont choose the right card.
In conclusion, prepaid cards function truly well for those who do not wish to spend more than what they own, but at the same time require the convenience of a credit card. This way, you wont get carried away with your expenses or find yourself drowning in debt.

Make Money With A Cash Back Credit Card

Cash back credit cards are a fantastic way for you to make some cash while spending on your credit card, although it does only suit the customers who pay their bill in full at the end of each month.
A cash back credit card will give you the chance to earn as you spend, as a percentage is returned to you on an annual basis for every pound that you have spent. This is usually set at between 0.5% and 2% depending on how generous the credit card lender is. I cannot stress enough, you must be able to pay off your credit card statement in full each month, and this is the only way that a cash back credit card will work for you.
If you are a borrower then a cash back credit card will only cost you, even though you will be earning a little back, you will find that this will be eaten up and more by the interest charges, which are usually on a higher scale of APR.
Is a cash back credit card for everyone?
By not incurring the interest payments, then for every pound that you spend on the card you will see a little coming back to you. If you pay your credit card balance in full every month, then why not switch to a cash back credit card. A cash back credit card is a fantastic opportunity to reward you for spending money!
There is a word of warning that will come with this though, if you decide that you want to balance transfer a amount from your existing credit card company on to a cash back credit card, then you should try and avoid this. As a matter of fact avoid it altogether, as any payments you make to the credit card will only go on to pay the amount transferred and interest will only mount up on any purchases that you have made on the credit card. You will then be paying back more than the cash back card is making you.
Here are some of the best deals
There are a few good deals on the go right now, with the Amex Blue cash back card the Amex Platinum and the First Trust Bank cards worthy at a look if you decide that a cash back credit card is for you.
So if you have a clear statement at the end of each month then go for it and make that bargain in the sales save you even more cash.

Upgrading, Adding or Removing a Video Card, Sound Card, or Other AGP/PCI Card

For Video cards - Most PC video cards these days are AGP. But you COULD be working with PCI, or PCI express. If you're not sure which you have (more then 75% of the time it will be AGP) consult your motherboard manual. If your video card is AGP, you should see a slot smaller then the other slots on your board, and it will be a different color. You can likely also tell your video card if it has a GPU (a processor with a fan on top of it) or a video card company printed on it like Nvidia or Geforce.
To take out your video card in order to switch it for a newer one, or if it simply is not working, remove the screw first that holds it to the case. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE CARD UNTIL YOU HAVE UNSCREWED IT. You will damage, maybe even destroy your card, and you may damage your AGP, PCI or PCI express slot as well. Your board may then have a simple switch that holds the socket down. Flick this switch up. After the scrue is removed, and the switch is flicked up, pull the card away from the board. Pull it on one side first so when it comes out it comes out on a slant, kind of like a car reversing. It should come out quite easily. To put in a new card, make sure the card you're putting in is properly lined up in the slot, then press the card into the slot. If it dosen't seem to be going in, you may be putting it in the wrong way. The pathways on the one side of the card should be the side that goes into the motherboard slot (these pathways looking like small lines going up one side of the card). Once the card sinks in with almost a click (like RAM), flick the switch down and scrue the card into the place you unscrued it. Start up your PC, make sure the card is working, then put your case back on.
Sound card - Sound cards are pretty easy, and the method for these can be used for any other card, such as network cards and the like (assuming they are all PCI. PCI are the black slots on your board). For installing/removing a PCI card, just unscrue it from the board, pull it out, then put the new one in, and scrue it in. Pretty easy. If you are having troubles, make sure the lines running up one side of the card is the side going into the slot. If you still have troubles, try turning the card around (but still make sure the pathways are facing the slot).
The Benefits From Credit Card Debt Consolidation

Credit card debt consolidation seems to be the most talked-about term in the world of credit cards. Its true that credit cards have been very useful and convenient for us and we, in fact, treat the credit cards as a necessity. However, with every good you have evil too. In the world of credit cards, Credit card debt is that evil and Credit card debt consolidation is often regarded as a medicine for treating credit card debt.
Anyone who has read any newspaper articles on Credit card debt would already know what credit card debt consolidation is. However, just for the benefit of others, credit card debt consolidation, in simple terms, is the process of consolidating debt which you hold on various high APR credit cards onto just one low APR credit card. Thus, the main benefit of credit card debt consolidation is realized in terms of APR reduction (and hence reduction in credit card debt growth rate). This is touted as the most important benefit (and sometimes the sole benefit) from credit card debt consolidation. However, credit card debt consolidation comes with few more benefits as well. Some of these credit card debt consolidation benefits are widely publicized by the credit card suppliers and some not so much:
1. Initial APR: As mentioned above, lower APR is the biggest benefit from credit card debt consolidation. Since credit card debt consolidation is used by credit card suppliers as a tool to attract consumers, they generally offer a 0% APR for a initial period of 6-9 months of you joining their credit card debt consolidation program i.e. first few months after you get the new credit card.
2. Standard APR: Lower standard APR (i.e. the long term APR) is the other important benefit from credit card debt consolidation. Though not all credit card suppliers offer a lower standard APR with credit card debt consolidation some do design credit card debt consolidation programs with good standard APR. These credit card debt consolidation programs offer a trade-off between initial and standard APR rates.
3. 0% on purchases: This is another common benefit from credit card debt consolidation. The 0% interest (or some lower percentage) on purchases is offered as an incentive for credit card debt consolidation. This credit card debt consolidation benefit is again applicable only for a short initial period.
4. Easy management: This credit card debt consolidation benefit is not as discussed as others. However, one benefit of credit card debt consolidation (from multiple to single credit card) is the fact that you need to track and manage a lesser number of credit cards.
5. Other benefits: The credit card debt consolidation exercise might bring you some more benefits in terms of rebates, discounts and reward points (especially if you move to a co-branded card as part of credit card debt consolidation)

On Credit Card Instant Approval

Credit card applications nowadays have begun to provide clients with an instant approval feature. Meaning, the person applying for a credit card would easily know whether he or she is eligible for applying. This process of instant approval is basically used online or through the internet.
To be able to prevent confusion in dealing with a credit card instant approval, you should know these facts:
* The credit card instant approval and the credit card application are two different processes. The approval of your credit card does not necessarily mean that your card would be delivered to you as soon as possible. It only means that you are qualified to apply for the credit card. The credit card application will be your next step once you have been given the go signal by the bank.
* The instant approval of credit cards is made to target customers with good past credit records. Although because of the high credit market today, the banks are willing stretch their limits and offer this program to different kinds of people. This may depend on the bank youre applying the credit card on.
* Majority of banks provide customers with a credit card application form online. These credit card companies make use of this program with secured connection software for your informations protection.
* The information you need to give for your credit cards instant approval include: your name, your current address, your social security number, and if there are previous address you may have over the years. This is the most common information asked on the instant approval feature of the banks.
* The main advantage of getting a speedy approval for your credit card applications is the elimination of the major trouble caused by guesswork on whether the company thinks that you deserve a card or not more instantaneously. Unlike the old-fashioned way when you have to visit a bank in person and ask if youre qualified then knowing youre not, this time it's a lot more convenient.
* The approval of your credit card online would only take you a few minutes to know your evaluation. It would be your choice to continue your credit card application.
And lastly, when you have been approved on your credit card application, don't just go splurging thinking that instant approval also means instant money. Instant approval is more tantamount to instant debt. Think about it.
Credit Cards For Bad Credit Applications

If you have bad credit, you may be under the impression that you are not able to apply for a credit card. While it is true that you may be rejected from getting certain credit cards or loans, there are options available for those who have bad credit. Since a sizeable percentage of the population has bad credit, this has created a market which many banks and credit card companies have tapped into.
Your credit report is a reflection of your credit history, and it is very important when you need to apply for a car or mortgage. There may be situations where you will need a credit card to complete a certain transaction, and if you have bad credit you will run into problems. There are a number of options available for those with bad credit who want cards. Secured credit cards are one good option. A secured credit card allows you to deposit money into the account which you can then use.
Instead of borrowing money from the credit card company, you use your own money. You will not be allowed to go over the amount you place on the card. Despite this, you may have to pay the credit card company a fee in order to use their cards, and this is how their money is made. A secured credit card can be used to make any of the purchases you can make with a unsecured credit card. A prepaid debit card is another option that is used by people who have less than perfect credit.
If you are a student in college, an option may be available for you called a secured student credit card. These cards will allow students to begin building their credit while they're still in school. Students who use these cards are prevented from going over their limit because they can only spend money which they've placed on the cards. It is important to remember that you won't get the best deals or rates if your credit is poor. However, we live in an electronic age, and it is difficult to conduct many transactions without having either a debit or credit card.
Secured credit cards are a great way to allow you to make transactions while you continue to rebuild your credit. If you work hard to repair your credit, you won't be in debt forever, and using these cards will allow you to easily make electronic transactions.

A Different Approach to Sending Holiday Cards to Your Customers

Want to be startled? Don't send a holiday card to one of your clients, but ask him, a week after New Year's, "Did you get my holiday card?"
"Why, sure," your client will say. "Thanks for that." What else can he say? He got dozens of holiday cards from vendors. He figures he got yours, too, but it didn't stand out in his mind, because....vendor holiday cards never do.
This year, save your money. Don't send holiday cards to your clients at all.
Do this instead: pick a DIFFERENT time of year to send cards to your clients. Pick a holiday that makes sense for your business (buy a copy of Chase's Holiday Guide at any bookstore to search for a relevant holiday) or make one up. Send a card that says, "Today is national [here's where you get creative] day, and I was thinking about you."
Or, send your clients a card on their birthdays. That'll stand out. You can use Plaxo to find our your clients' birthdays. Or send them a card on the anniversary of the day you met them. Or send them a card on the anniversary of their founding date! That will be appreciated.
Do something different. Don't let your standard holiday card end up in a pile of recycling. Take the opportunity to put your own stamp on the holiday-greeting thing - and make an impact.

Prepaid Credit Cards

In todays world, more and more people are finding out that a pre-paid credit card works better for them, than any other type of credit card out there. There are a great deal of reasons that someone would want the convenience and the hassle free enjoyment that having a pre-paid credit card can offer you. A few of these reasons could be, credit trouble that makes getting a regular credit card difficult, teaching your child or college aged student financial responsibility, or just the plain fact of being able to completely control your spending. By getting a pre-paid credit card, all of these things can become a reality.

In the world today, it is hard to do anything without the use of a credit card, for example, you cannot shop online at all without a credit card of some form. In fact, it is hard to rent a car, book a hotel room, get an airplane ticket, or go on vacation without having a credit card. It is a sad but true fact that this world revolves around the use of credit and the industry is showing no signs of slowing down. There are a lot of pros and cons to having a pre-paid credit card, on con is the fact that the card operates specifically like that of a debit card, with the exception that there is not any type of checking or savings account involved.

A pre-paid credit cards works in a way just like a debit card, the spending limit is controlled by the amount you have pre-paid into the card, via the company that issues the card. When you have charged the amount you have, you must make another deposit in order to receive any more credit within the card. There are also many advantages to having a pre-paid card, there are no real limitations on who can and cannot receive one. There is no credit check therefore your credit score is not a decisive factor nor is there an income requirement. The only requirement of obtaining and using a pre-paid credit card is that you have to be a minimum of 18 years old.

In addition, generally a pre-paid credit card does not charge its user an APR rate on the deposit amounts. Many pre-paid credit card companies also allow you to deposit your paycheck directly into the pre-paid card, this saves you time and money by not having to make trips to the bank..
What To Look For In a Credit Card Offer

When it comes to acquiring a credit card, there is a plethora of choices out there for any credit consumer. However this makes the process of browsing through the credit card offers and selecting the best one difficult for the average consumer.
To choose the best credit card offer you have to decide how you will be using your credit card and what options in a credit card contract are most important to you. You have to take into account such things as the APR, reward programs and security options, among other items before selecting the best credit card offer for you.
One important part of the credit card offer is the APR. The annual percentage rate (APR) tells you the interest that will be charged on your credit card balance. Finding a low interest rate can save you a lot of money in the long run.
The Apr must be taken in conjunction with other factors of the credit card offer. For example credit cards that offer a reward program often charge a higher interest rate than cards that dont. If you are looking specifically for a card that allows you to earn air miles on your purchases, then you have the task of finding the low interest credit card that offers the reward program that meets your needs. In addition to low APR, credit card offers should have reasonable usage fees. Many credit card offers have zero annual fees.
Credit cards issuers are heavily relying on the reward programs in their credit card offer to reel in customers. These rewards are based on the amount of use of the credit card and include programs such as airline miles, cash back, department store items and even free gas for your automobile. Thus choosing the right reward program can allow you to work your way towards buying a new computer or getting a free ticket to the destination of your choice. Again these rewards should be taken in conjunction with the APR to find out if the credit card offer is worthwhile.
Another part of a credit card offer is its security features. Most credit card offers today guarantee a great deal of security measures for consumers. These include steps to prevent identity theft and lessening the liability of owners incase of unauthorized use of their credit card.
Different individuals will find different credit card offers best suited to their needs. There is no one best credit card offer for all consumers. Therefore it is important to know how you will be using your credit card and then to shop around to find the most suitable credit card offer.

What To Look For In Business Credit Cards

Everybody needs credit and it is no different for a business. When establishing a businesses credit the first step is usually to get a business credit card. Business credit cards often differ from credit cards for personal use. It is good to know the difference between personal and business credit cards, as well as what to look for in a business credit card. Your businesses credit is as important, if not more than your personal credit, so knowing as much as you can about it is essential.
Knowing the difference between business and personal credit is the first step to getting a business credit card. Most card offers you get will be based on your personal credit and just have your business name on them. What this means is your business name will just get added to your personal credit report and this card will report to your personal credit. You will not be building credit for your business. In order to figure out if the credit offers you are getting are like this or not is to see what credit agency they report to. The business credit agencies are: Dun & Bradstreet, Experian Business, Equifax Business, Business Credit USA. If they report to anyone else then it will be based on your personal credit. You should ask if they have a business card you can get. This will allow you to build your business credit.
Besides starting a business credit report a business credit card can help your business with other things. You will be able to keep business and personal finances separate. You can track your business purchases easily and have a nice detailed record of everything you buy or pay on your credit card in your monthly statements. The biggest benefit of all this will come at tax time when you do not have to sort through a mixed mess of personal and business paperwork.
Other things to look for in a business credit card are similar to what you would look for in a personal credit card. You should compare fees and interest rates. You should also consider how you will use it and any benefits offered by the credit card company. It is important to shop around and look for the card that will work best for your business.
A business credit card can be great for both you and your business. You can begin to build a credit history for your business and keep your finances organized. To get the most out of a business credit card you should always make sure it is reporting to the business credit agencies and is separate from your personal credit record. You should shop around for a card that has good fees and will suit your business. Looking for a business credit card is a lot like looking for any other credit card, but it is important to remember it is for business not personal use.
Tips on How to Apply for a Credit Card

Deciding to apply for a credit card is not a decision you should take lightly. Many stores try to get you to impulsively apply at the register, and you should never agree. Credit cards can affect your financial situation for years so you should certainly think before you act. If you want to apply for a credit card, there are a few steps you should take beforehand.
Evaluation
Before you apply for a credit card, you should do an evaluation of your finances. Get a free
credit report and make sure everything is accurate. You will want to know what your credit score is
so you will know which cards to look at when you apply for a credit card. If there is anything
unusual or incorrect on your credit report, deal with it immediately. Many people never look at
their credit report, and therefore have no idea what may or may not be on it. It is important to
clear up anything incorrect on your credit report before you apply for a credit card.
Research
After getting everything strait with your credit report, you should begin researching. Research
cards that fit your credit score. Make a list of important characteristics you want in a credit
card. Look for the best deals in several areas. Before you apply for a credit card, you should make
sure you understand everything about the card and the companys policies. Look at the interest
rates, rewards programs, and other characteristics.
Be wary of great introductory offers. When you apply for a credit card, many companies will offer
you fantastic introductory deals. It is great to take advantage of these deals, however you
should be sure that the terms wont change unexpectedly after the introductory offer time period is
over. For example, you will need to know what the interest rate will be after the offer before you
apply for a credit card.
Conclusion
Once you find several credit cards with terms that you understand and like, categorize them by
your choice. Apply to one at a time. If you only need one card and apply to three, you run the
chance of getting approved for all three. This will not only reflect on your credit report, but also
give you the inconvenience of canceling two of them. So, be patient and wait for a response.
When you apply for a credit card, you are vowing that you will be responsible financially.
Deciding to apply for a credit card means that you know you will be able to pay the balance off in a
timely manner. If you are not sure of your ability to pay, you should never apply for a credit card.
Be responsible, examine, and research before applying!

How To Pay Credit Card Debt Off

If you are determined to pay credit card debt off you are making the best financial decision of your life. The reason credit card debt is so bad is because it carries such a high interest rate.
The quickest way to take back control of your finances is to pay credit card debt down or get rid of it completely. Here are the best and quickest ways for total credit card debt elimination.
Eliminate Credit Card Spending
You must immediately eliminate credit card spending because you will never pay credit card debt off if you continue to add to the outstanding balance. The interest on that debt added with a climbing balance will make it impossible to ever pay off.
Pay More Than The Minimum Payment
Always pay more than the minimum payment on the credit card you want to eliminate first. Paying the minimum payment makes you keep paying that high credit card interest rate. That's exactly what the credit card companies want because they are making a fortune off of that interest.
The best way to pay credit card debt off is start paying off the credit card with the highest interest rate first. Pay the minimum monthly payment on the others. Once each card is paid redirect your funds to the next highest interest rate card so you can eventually get rid of credit card debt.
Snowball Debt Payments
Snowballing debt payments means to transfer credit card debt from a high interest rate card to a low interest rate card. By doing this you pay a greater amount of money towards the balance and less interest on debt.
This increase in the amount of money you pay toward your outstanding balance allows you to snowball your efforts and pay credit card debt off quicker. It's worth looking at each individual card and determine how much interest you are paying with each of them.
Renegotiate With Creditors
Contact your credit card company and ask for a lower interest rate. They may want your business enough to lower it. The interest savings to you will multiply your efforts to pay credit card debt off quicker.
One last tip is, if you choose to close your credit card accounts, do not close them until after the final bill has been paid. Some credit card companies will penalize you by raising your interest rate if you close an account that carries an outstanding balance.
If you are ever going to get rid of credit card debt it's important to set a realistic budget for yourself. Lower your spending in all areas so you can pool your available cash to pay off your balances quicker. Think of how you will feel when you pay credit card debt off and you are finally free of high credit card interest.

Prepaid Credit Cards

If you have a history of bad credit and are unable to obtain a mainstream credit card, then prepaid credit cards may be just the answer you are looking for.
First of all, although prepaid credit cards are accepted at any retail outlet where the credit card logo is displayed, strictly speaking they are not a credit card, as the issuer provides no credit facility to you. Rather, your spending limit is determined by how much money you have on the credit card at any given time.
Once the amount on the card has been spent, the cardholder can either buy a new prepaid credit card or elect to transfer money on to the existing card, depending on the card program.
Although prepaid credit cards sound very like debit credit cards, the two should not be confused. In the case of debit cards, any purchase for goods or services you make will automatically be charged to you bank account for which the debit credit card has been issued. However, purchases for goods or services made on prepaid cards goes off the balance already on the card.
Because of the prepaid nature of these cards, they have several benefits, such as:
no interest is charged
they give people with a bad credit history the option to
use a credit card
the credit line is variable depending on the amount on the balance of the card
That said, you still need to review the terms and conditions of the application form carefully as prepaid credit cards can have
a monthly membership fee
an application fee
a purchase fee
a monthly transaction limit fee, i.e. if you spend over a fixed amount each month you are charged a fee for any additional transactions
a fee if you use the card to make ATM withdrawals
Nonetheless, the card is a superb option if you either cannot obtain a regular credit card or are tired of all the fees and interest charges that are normally associated with standard credit card.

Finding the Best Instant Approval Credit Card Application for you

When you start to look at all, the different instant approval credit card offers that you may receive in the mail. You are going to want to really watch what all the different credit card offers you do receive. There are some that may say that you are instantly approved for a credit card but when you actually apply for the credit cards you may soon see that you are not going to be approved for a credit card thru some of the major credit card companies.
If this happens to you there is a chance that you would have a good shot at a department store or gas credit card to start out with. There are many times that the department stores and gas cards are going to be a little more lenient on someone that is trying to build their credit up.
Once you do receive credit cards for your use do not get too carried away with charging everything in site. You are going to want to make sure that you are going to be able to pay for all the charges that you are doing. When you prove to the credit card companies that you are paying your bills one time and being responsible for all of your charges some of the larger credit card companies are going to be more willing to give you a chance with one of their credit cards.
The next time that you receive an instant approval credit card letter in the mail make sure that you are looking at all the different terms and conditions that they state on their letters. That way you are going to know if that would be a card worth applying for. You do not want to apply for all of the card offers that you receive in the mail because then you are just going to end up hurting your credit rating in the end.
credit card interest rate

Have you ever experienced that nifty little piece of plastic known as the credit card? Well, chances are if you're out of high school, then you've probably snagged a credit card at some point or another. We tend to go after them when we realize that our incomes are not quiet measuring up, or our tuition is a tad overwhelming. The problem is we also tend to go a little crazy with our spending once we have these charging accessories. Do you by any chance know what your credit card interest rate is? This is crucial if you're going to tote one around in your wallet or purse. No one wants to grapple with horrific monthly payments.

Whenever I receive a credit card pitch in the mail, it always emphasizes the wonderful credit card interest rate on the cover. Now, I would probably pay more attention to this if I wasn't receiving them on a daily basis. Who in the world wants all these credit card offers? It's not like I want to charge up 50 different cards. I already have enough trouble dealing with my current credit card interest rate. Anyway, contrary to what they always display across the front of these envelopes, only a handful of these credit card offers are worth looking into. You always have to read that fine print. It generally covers the back side of the pitching document. This is where they give you a dose of reality. Yes indeed, it's time for the real deal. That fabulous 0% credit card interest rate is actually only for the first year, and it probably only pertains to balance transfers. Ah ha! They thought they were clever. The true interest rate is generally something less savory. And while a company may pitch a perfect credit card interest rate for the first year, it will sadly go way up to around 15% by the following year. No one wants that garbage.

If you are not currently aware of your credit card interest rate, then I suggest you do some checking. It's imperative because these things will change and you may not even notice. That's how sneaky those guys are. With the turn of a new year, you can bet that they're going to raise that credit card interest rate. When this happens it may be time to search for a new card or call the company and have a serious talk. Yep, in the world of plastic, that credit card interest rate is certainly paramount.

What Do The Teen Credit Card Debt Statistics Tell?

Well, you dont really need to look into the teen credit card debt statistics to tell whats going on. The teen credit card debt statistics would probably look very similar to any other. I think I read somewhere about teen credit card debt statistics and those teen credit card debt statistics indicated that a lot of teens in US had a significant amount of balance on their credit cards; something which they shouldnt have (considering their limited needs for credit). Though these teen credit card debt statistics would give you a fair idea of how our teens are faring in the world of credit cards its really not so important to talk about teen credit card debt statistics as it is to talk about the ways of bettering the teen credit card debt statistics (I mean bettering the teen credit card debt statistics in a positive way).
So how do you better teen credit card debt statistics?
Well, the bettering of teen credit card debt statistics would, as you must have guessed, start with education. This education has to start early in the life of the teens. Here we are not talking about just credit cards related education but the education about managing their finances in general. Teen credit card debt statistics cannot be improved without explaining the actual value of money to the teens (and also teaching them how to use it). So, for bettering teen credit card debt statistics, we need to give them an all round education on managing money and finances. This can start with asking them to maintain a record of their pocket money and how they spend them. Also, engage them into education related to money management (of course, you have to customize the discussion to suit their level of knowledge and maturity). The next step would be to open a bank account for them and teach them the various aspects of managing it. Teach them what debt it and when it is considered bad. Debit card could be the next step for them. Once they start becoming comfortable with doing their bank transactions by themselves, you can get a prepaid credit card for them (something that has a preset limit of $200-250). You could also use a low limit credit card (with $250 credit limit) and teach them how to use it.
Thus you can follow a step-by-step approach to ensure that your teens learn the best practices (and hence you can keep them out of those horrifying teen credit card debt statistics, thereby contributing to bettering the teen credit card debt statistics).

Whats APR? Basically, the APR or annual percentage rate of a credit card is the combination of low interest rates and finance charges. With that said, lets move on to the next topic.
Are There Really Zero Percent (0%) APR Intro Rates And What Does It Mean? Lets say you already own a credit card and youve used up most of your credit already. With a 0% APR intro rate credit card, you can transfer your balance without incurring additional interest.
Nice, isnt it? Also, if youre planning to purchase something but paying it off before the intro period is over then yes, having a 0% APR intro rate credit card is the best option for you. Remember, the keyword here is intro which indicates that this is only something like an introductory offer so dont expect the 0% APR to last forever.
What About Low Interest APR Credit Cards? If youre in search for a credit card with long-time charges then its better to go for a low interest APR credit card rather than one with a 0% APR credit card because the interest rate would just revert to normal for the latter.
Which One Is Better: A Low Interest APR Credit Card Or A 0% APR Credit Card? Well, this question would require you to research a bit but since your decision will ultimately affect your finances then its better to go ahead and research, right?
The first question you have to ask your credit card company is about the length or duration of the intro period if youre interested in availing yourself of a 0% APR intro rate credit card. The intro period usually lasts between three to fifteen months. Anything less is naturally a disadvantage and anything more is preferable.
Ask also about what the APR of the credit card is going to be after the intro period. If the interest rate is higher than the APR of other credit cards that do not offer 0% APR for a certain period of time AND youre not planning to maximize the 0% APR youre given then maybe, its better to simply go with a low interest credit card.

General Tips On Credit Cards

Credit card or plastic money is omnipresent today. Today they are treated as more of a necessity than just a commodity. Thus it is essential that you not only use them properly but also take proper care of them. The following list is a compilation of some tips on credit card management:
1. Never chose a particular credit card because your friend or someone else has chosen it. Instead base it on your needs.
2. Compare various credit cards before arriving at the right one for you.
3. Always sign at the back of your credit card, as soon as you receive it. This is an important credit card protection mechanism.
4. Protect sensitive information/details about your credit card e.g. PIN. Never reveal the details to anyone.
5. Destroy any mails containing such the details about your credit cards. Fraudsters might be scanning your garbage for such information.
6. Do not share your credit card with friends, family and others. Apply for supplementary cards if you require one for your family etc.
7. Never utilize more than 75% of your credit limit. This will help in containing your credit card debt and also in maintaining a good credit rating.
8. Be prompt in your payments. If you havent received your monthly bill, enquire with your credit card supplier. Non-payments and late payments tarnish your credit rating.
9. Never let your credit card go out of your sight.
10. There is no magic wand for debt elimination. So take measures for getting out of your credit card debt. This includes things like controlling your credit card usage, using cash on some occasions, debt consolidation etc.
11. In case your credit card gets lost or is stolen. Immediately inform (call) your credit card supplier to get it invalidated. Keep this phone number separate from your credit card.
12. Be prompt in advising the change of address to your credit card supplier.
13. Be aware of various offers / discounts that accompany your credit card. You never know when one might prove useful to you.
14. Do not mistake credit card for free money or a lottery. Remember that you will have to pay for it. So always stick to your budget.
15. Check if one of the special credit cards e.g. student credit card, small business credit card is better for you.
16. Always read all the instructions supplied with your credit card especially the ones related to fee/commissions etc.
17. Redeem membership rewards in time. Dont let the points get expired. Never leave them unutilized when closing your credit card account.
18. Take professional advice if you are too deep into credit card debt.
19. Never get lured by all the free offers on your credit card and end up spending thousands of bucks just to realize later that you cant actually pay it back in time.
20. Never apply for too many credit cards just for fashion sake. Even you dont use them you might still be paying annual fees and them and moreover why keep something you dont need.
Better the Devil You Know

To save money on your credit cards, doesnt always necessary mean that you have to switch providers to get a better deal, far from it as you can always start on your own doorstep and ask your current credit card lender if they can offer you a better deal than the one that you are getting at present.
This should be your first step if you are looking to get a better deal, but are unsure, as you are more than happy with the service that your current credit card gives you. Though you may feel that it maybe easier to simply change to a different lender, then this couldnt be further from the truth and at the end of the day, the credit card that you have should be one that suits you and not the credit card issuer.
If you are in fact happy with your present credit card and the benefits and service that you have then read on and find out how simple that getting a better deal can be.
Firstly you have to ask yourself if you keep your payments up to date, have not missed any and have an overall good payment history with your credit card company, if so then you have the right cards to play when it comes to asking for a reduction in your APR charges. If you fail to have any of the criteria that has been mentioned, then before you can ask your credit card issuer for a better deal, you may find that you have to get your credit history up to scratch.
Once you have ascertained that you have the right credentials, look out for some of the better deals that you can currently find in the credit card market at the moment, so that you can tell them about the better offers that have been sent to you from the other credit card lenders, it is just another weapon to use to get what you want and with a good payment history and long service wit the card, most credit card companies do not wish to loose good customers, so even if it sounds a bit like blackmail you have to get the best deal for you.
Once you contact your credit card issuer, remember to always stay polite, even more so if the person on the other side of the phone is lets say having a bad day, simply ask to be put on to a supervisor or manager and while doing so remain calm and polite.
If you get to the stage that the credit card company has made you a better offer (I said If because always be prepared that your credit card issuer declines your request) see if it matches up against the other offers you have written down, tell them so and if they cant beat or even come close to matching it, then let them know that you will be cancelling your account with them and that you want it confirmed, if by doing this and they still dont budge on the APR, then maybe who ever you move to, will value your custom more than they did.

Establishing Credit When You Have No Credit History

Its a catch-22. You need a line of credit to build credit but since you dont have credit, no one wants to extend you a line of credit.
Increasing credit card companies are offering credit cards to college students on campus.
I acquired my first credit card when I was shopping at the campus book store for a used book. My first credit card, a MBNA Visa, had a credit limit of $500. Enough to keep me out of trouble but also enough to start building my credit history file.
Here are three strategies for building or rebuilding your credit file.
1. If you have no credit, you can start building credit by applying for a secured credit card. A secured credit card is a type of credit card that requires you to open and maintain a bank savings account. The money in the savings account is used as security against your line of credit, in case you default on any payments. Your credit line is usually 50% to 100% of the money in the savings account.
2. Another strategy to building credit is to apply for an unsecured credit card. An unsecured credit card is a type of credit card that does not require you to secure the card with a savings account. This is the traditional credit card that youve come to know. You can apply for a no credit history credit card.
3. If you are having trouble applying for an unsecured credit card, ask a family member to be a cosigner on a credit card.
To increase your chances of getting an unsecured credit card, do the following:

Apply for cards that are suitable to your financial status. Card issuers have a target demographic or people they want to offer cards to, for each credit card product. Some creditors only want customers with perfect credit.

Open a checking or savings account in your name. This lends credibility to your financial status.

Dont overdraw or bounce any checks. Better yet leave the money in the account and let it be. Most banks will let you open an account with $250 or even less.

It helps to have a phone number or utility in your name.
Following these basic steps should land you on the road to perfect credit in no time.

How To Get A Higher Credit Card Limit

Almost all credit card holders are aspiring for a higher credit card limit. This is because a higher credit card limit will enable them to make otherwise unaffordable purchases. Credit card holders need to remember that to get a higher credit card limit; they must abide by the terms and conditions of the credit card company or bank.
Below are other ways to get a higher credit card limit.
The most important thing to do to get a higher credit limit is to prove your creditworthiness. This is the number one thing banks and companies look for in giving a higher credit limit.
Attract positive attention from the credit card company or bank by paying finance purchases once in a while. However, it is not advisable to make this method a habit and should only be done as a last resort to increase your chances of getting a higher credit limit.
Proving credit card companies and banks that you are good borrower would definitely convince them to give you a higher credit limit. But be careful as such strategy could only serve the benefit of the companies and banks. A higher credit card limit means greater purchasing power but it also increases the potential of the credit card companies and banks to earn through you through increased interest charges and other fees.
Always spend within your credit card limit because doing so means that you are capable of controlling your expenses.
Use your credit card regularly. Dont keep your cards for emergency use only. If you sue your credit card sparingly banks and credit card companies will be unable to understand your spending and pay back behavior and would be reluctant to give you a higher credit card limit.
Never make minimum payments. Instead, try to pay for the entire outstanding amount. This would give you better chances of getting a higher credit card limit.
Avoid late payments as much as possible. Not only do you increase your interest, you also have to pay an additional fine for not clearing bills on time. This would dim your chances in getting a higher credit card limit.
The best and simplest strategy to get higher credit card limit is to use your credit card wisely. Always keep in mind that credit card companies keep a record of your transactions and payment pattern so always pay your dues on time and never make late payments. Your performance in the records of banks and credit card companies will determine whether youll get a higher credit card limit or not.

If you still have troubles, try turning the card around (but still make sure the pathways are facing the slot).

debit card

Debit Card

If for any reason you don’t want have a credit card, you want to make sure that you have a debit card. If you have a checking account, in most cases, you will be allowed to get one of these cards. They can be used almost anywhere credit cards are excepted, but they do work in a different way. These cards will only allow you to buy something if you have enough money in your account. If you have problems with credit cards, this might even be a great alternative to stop you from overspending.

A good debit card is one that offers you buyer protection. Though not all of these cards will do this for you, you will want to ask a your bank to see if yours will. The good debit card will offer you the same protection a good credit card will, and you should be able to use it anywhere you buy or spend money. They are especially useful if you want to buy things online, or if you are going out of town were you know no one will accept a check from you.

If your debit card comes with credit protection as an optional feature, make sure you sign up for it. Also remember that your debit card is vulnerable if someone else were to get their hands on it, so if you find that your debit card is missing make sure you contact your bank at once. They will be able to cancel your card and possibly issue you a new one immediately. In some cases, you will not be liable for fraudulent charges made against your account while your card was out of your hands. However you must act fast if you find it missing or there may be nothing the bank can do.

As with a credit card, make sure you have a secure server when you are using your debit card online. Also remember that there are scam e-mails that will ask you to enter your debit card information under false pretenses. If you receive an e-mail from your bank asking you to go to a web site to enter your information, you should delete the e-mail once and contact your bank. Your bank will never asked you for this information online. If you enter your information on one of these fraudulent sites, you have just given criminals the keys to your bank account. If you are ever in doubt call your bank over the phone. If there is a problem, they will address it with you then.

Three Card Poker Basics

Three card Poker is a fast paced game which is easy to learn for the novice card player.
This game is played with a 52 card deck and is played between a dealer and a single player.
The player and dealer are each dealt 3 cards which are placed face down. The object of the game is for you to get a higher three card poker hand than the dealer. An important rule that people must remember when playing three card poker is regarding the hand ranks. In three card poker a straight is higher than a flush because there are fewer ways to make a 3 card straight than a 3 card flush.
There is little strategy and absolutely no bluffing involved in this game, which is why I said at the beginning that it is a game for the beginner. The main decision in this game comes when the player first looks at the cards he is dealt. Here he must decide whether to fold or to raise. In three card poker a raise means you are paying to see the dealer's cards.
The minimum hand you must have before raising is at least an ace high with either a king or queen, otherwise one should fold. There is a twist in this form of poker though, whereby the dealer can have a higher three card poker hand than you and still lose the game. It works as follows, the dealer must have a queen high hand or better, or his hand does not count for the game. So theoretically if you are dealt a hand with just a ten in it you could still win the hand. For this twist to happen though, you will have to raise the dealer, so think carefully before raising with a weak hand.
